AMADA WELD TECH located in France (Tremblay), is currently looking for a

Field service and applications engineer

In this role you are responsible for installing, servicing and calibrating equipment, onsite training and handling of customer technical inquiries related to resistance welding, hot-bar, laser welding or marking applications. Your role includes start-up, coordination, incident elimination, maintenance, repair and technical customer support, increasingly through remote maintenance via Internet. In addition, your input and support to the sales network will be required at all stages and prove invaluable to our company’s success. 

Day-to-day tasks:

• Sales Support of NE Region sales team during demonstrations, specification and technical project phases
• Applications Development in French lab
• Install, align and service Laser Welding and Laser Marking, Resistance Welding and Hot-bar workstations with PLC and motion control hard- and software
• Make changes to PLC and motion control programs
• Give customers comprehensive technical support from our office as well as on site
• Train customers in the use and maintenance of our products and systems
• Answer inquiries regarding operation, maintenance and applications
• Write field visit and customer inquiry reports (in English)
• Travel significantly (70%) within France and occasionally overseas

Skills and interests:

• Pre-requisite qualification/experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• A good understanding of the correlation between electronics and mechanics
• Software programming skills and proven programming experience for industrial control equipment
• Able to travel domestically and internationally on short notice and willing to travel and work outside office hours
• Solid English skills, both oral and written. German and/or Dutch is an advantage
• Team working ability and ability to build relationships with clients quickly
• Analytical and good practical electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Proficient computer skills (incl. Microsoft Office)
• Ability to work independent
• Living in France – Trembly area
• Entitlement to work within Europe and with a full driving licence
