Laser Welding

Laser Welding is a welding technique used to join multiple pieces of metal with a laser. A laser produces a beam of high-intensity light which is focused into a single spot to provide a concentrated heat source and allows for narrow, deep welds and high welding speeds.

This process is frequently used in high volume applications, such as in the automotive and medical industries.

Laser Welding Benefits:

  • Contactless and low heat input
  • Minimum part deformation
  • No tool ware
  • Minimum metallurgical damage
  • Very stable processes
  • Very fast
  • Easy to integrate into production equipment
  • Low cost per weld for high volume applications

AMADA WELD TECH uses two different methods of Laser Welding:

Laser Welding Applications

Typical applications of laser welding include sensors, radar components, battery housing, conductors for thin film cells, pacemaker cases and insulin pump cases.
